Task 3: Type Exploration & Application

Chemole is a name formed from the combination of the words "Chemistry" and "Molecules". The typeface was created as an experimental exploration of the concept of molecular structures forming the structure of letterforms. Inspired by 3D models of molecules, Chemole explores translating molecular models into unique letterforms.

REFLECTIONS
Experience
Throughout this module, I have learnt many things about typography, from ways to apply text information into different systems to designing a font/typeface. There were definitely many challenges faced along the way, especially at the beginning of each of the tasks, due to not knowing what to do. However, I managed to overcome them as I went, and I can say that I gave it my all for the tasks.

Observation
During this module, I found that at first I was quite indecisive on the choices for my final outcomes and did not have much confidence in my skills. As I progress along the tasks, I definitely feel like I am improving myself from these problems. Learning from the feedback also helped me improve my skills and my work, as it encouraged me to think critically about how to refine and strengthen my designs independently.

Findings
I found that typography is not just about arranging text or selecting fonts, but also about things like typefaces, hierarchy, and composition that come together to effectively communicate information. I also found that many experimentations and revisions help with coming up a good outcome. Overall, this module strengthened my technical typography skills and my confidence when designing.
